The fighter plane was the main asset of 122 Squadron. And is still flown by enthousiasts.

Operational management of the squadrons and airports stationed on Sumatra was under LuCoSu (Airforce Command Sumatra).
Command: major Hans Maurenbrecher (46-49), followed by major P.E.J. Janssens.
LuCoSu included the squadrons:

17 Squadron VARWA
Among the 50 portraits found by S. Gerardu of 122 Squadron, 5 of them turned out to be 17 VARWA crew[1]. It is estimated that in general 50-70 crew were based on 11VB Polonia[2].
17 Squadron VARWA was founded in 1946 on july the 15th and manned with ex-prisoners of war from the pre-war ML-KNIL, supplemented by public transport officers from LSK [3].
